I started taking lessons from Patrick in early 2020. My handicap has gone down 5 points since then, and I now have a 19.5 index. It took me a while to break down old habits, but I am making major improvements recently. I am not a natural athlete. It takes me longer than others to absorb and master new skills. Patrick has been very patient working with me and is very accommodating to my learning style. I have played golf for 30 years. My husband, David Tsiang and I joined Pasadera 20 years ago while the golf course was being built. I've had many golf instructors over the years. Patrick is the first instructor who actually taught me proper golf techniques. Most of my previous instructors only taught "band-aid" fixes thinking women were not capable of handling the "real techniques". I now have a much better understanding of the golf swing. Even watching pro tournaments on TV is more enjoyable now that I know what I am looking at!
Besides taking private lessons to fine tune my golf swing, I also attend Patrick's women's golf clinic regularly. I have taken his clinic series 3 times. I pick up new tips every time. The clinic is useful for reinforcing all the different skills and brushing up on the basics. The basics are essential to have for falling back on when my swing breaks down on the course at times. I plan to continue learning from Patrick and have him help me take my game as far as possible. It is very exciting to see progress in my game.
Patrick is a great instructor for me as well as for many others at TCAP. I recently learned about Patrick's credentials and his accomplishments in the golfing community, and they are impressive! I think we are very lucky to have Patrick as part of TCAP.

Patrick Parrish is an outstanding golf instructor with a very unique
combination of skills. What makes Patrick so effective as an instructor is
that he combines a very comprehensive knowledge of the golf swing with
excellent communication skills.
Patrick has an outstanding technical understanding of the golf swing.
I continue to be impressed with howPatrick is committed to continued education and studies new theories to add
to his knowledge base. Patrick combines this knowledge with excellent
communication skills that enable him get his concepts across to students in
different ways to help them understand his teaching concepts. I have seen
Patrick make measurable improvements across a very diverse range of
students, from beginners to elite players and from juniors to adults.
Patrick makes his lessons fun, and in the end generates results to help his
golfers improve and further enjoy the game.

Patrick Parrish is the consummate PGA Golf Professional. His lifelong commitment to and love of the game of golf is readily apparent as soon as you engage with him. Patrick’s stellar playing career as a member of a legendary golf team at UCLA, and later as a PGA member, along with his impressive teaching career, has allowed him to develop teaching plans for everyone from a raw beginner to talented collegiate and professional golfers. I have had the privilege of growing up around and spending time with some of the finest teachers in golf. One critical common denominator of all great teachers is “a good eye.” It is one thing to know the mechanics of the swing, it is something much more rare to have the talent to break down the mechanics of a student’s swing and be able to devise a plan for improvement. Patrick has that “great eye,” and the knowledge and communicative skills to provide students with simple and effective swing improvements, whether full swing, short game or putting. His list of successful juniors he has helped develop into top competitive and collegiate golfers is impressive. His list of beginners he has developed into proficient players who love the game is as well. Patrick is well known from Monterey to the Bay Area as a true student of the game and one of the best teachers in Northern California. Having a teacher with his impressive credentials and reputation enhances the reputation of Pasadera, and is a key asset in the development of Pasadera as a prestigious golf club. His love for the game is infectious and will allow better golf at Pasadera to grow. As a student, I wholeheartedly endorse Patrick and have recommended him to numerous players seeking to improve their games.

I joinded Pasadera so I could improve my golf skills while I am on the Monterey Peninsula. My expectation was that Pasadera would offer a high quality course and the highest level of instruction available. Patrick's instruction exceeded my expectations. He is not only prepared and on-time for every lesson, but he brings enthusiasm and unmatched technical expertise to our sessions. I enjoy discussing every aspect of golf with Patrick because I learn techniques and methods that can't be found on the internet, in books, or in magazines. Despite all of the drawbacks of joining the club at the beginning of the pandemic, I never regretted joining Pasadera because Patrick's instruction has been world-class. And more importantly, Patrick has become a valued friend over the past year!

My name is Hong Kim, along with myself, my wife and my 2 daughters are members at Pasadera. We have been fortunate to have known Patrick Parrish for going on our 6th year. Originally we met Patrick through the AT&T Jr Golf summer clinics 4 years ago. Throughout the summer clinics with the various golf instructors, we found Patrick to be the most attentive, most personable with the kids and of course the most effective! My daughter Masha immediately formed a wonderful bond with Patrick. What I appreciate most about Patrick is his “no-nonsense” approach to his teaching style. He is very detail oriented and if anyone is critical of this style, I can only use the analogy of “not being able to teach an old dog new tricks”.
Masha has become quite the celebrity with the members at Pasadera because of her play. When most ask her age and how long she’s been playing, they are shocked to know she’s 11 and only has been playing in her 4th year!! More than not, the subject of who her coach happens to be brought up. We always are proud to give all accolades of her golf achievements to Patrick Parrish! I’m not one to brag but Masha has quickly climbed the ranks of AT&T jr Golf ranks and has won multiple 1st place! In fact, we had to move her up to Gold division due to her dominance in the a silver division! In her 3rd tournament playing against all high school competitors, she’s placed 4th, 1st and recently 3rd! We give all the credit to Patrick Parrish!
Anyone can say who’s the better teacher but all I say is the proof is in the pudding! Look at the product. I don’t see the other kids who have “other” coaches having the success as our daughter! I understand everything is personal preference like golf clubs! The clubs don’t make the better player, it starts with the player and the coach that can teach the student! To be honest, if it wasn’t for Patrick, our family wouldn’t have even thought of joining the Pasadera family. As our daughter Masha progresses and adds to her accolades in her future, not only does she represent Pasadera as the club she found stardom but Patrick was responsible for her success as he was with Bryson Dechambeau. Thank you Patrick and we owe everything to you!
With our deepest respect,
Hong H Kim and family

"I am delighted to comment about Patrick's teaching career which I have witnessed from many levels. Most impressive is his commitment to junior golf. His generosity in teaching many youngsters has helped the game grow along with wonderful mentorship of our youth. His popularity has brought many to the Monterey Peninsula and especially The Club at Pasadera. I personally have enjoyed and learned from his teaching philosophy which has continued for me to enjoy golf into my 80s. Finally thanks to him for being such an outstanding leader in golf. Continued success. I look forward to seeing Patrick soon."

I would like to briefly state my advocacy for Patrick Parrish, your Director of Instruction. Patrick provided absolutely the best experience of my ten-year TCAP membership. With great care and patience, Patrick taught my son and I the game of golf. We are both grateful for what we learned under Patrick’s tutelage, and remain avid golfers to this day. Patrick’s teaching style was comprehensive, and created an everlasting understanding of the golf swing mechanics. Patrick took a deep interest in our lives, and cared for us like a friend. I also know many other TCAP members who have benefited from Patrick’s teaching. Having moved across the country, I am no longer a TCAP member, so now I must seek others help with minor ‘tune-ups’. Having now experienced a number of other instructors, I can assure you that TCAP possesses the gold standard for golf instructors.
"I will also add that Patrick, with a high degree of humility, has been an incredible asset to the junior golf programs of the Monterey Peninsula. He has taught, mentored, and developed many prominent junior golfers who have become collegiate and professional golfers following Patrick’s guidance."

"I would like to give a brief testimonial about my experiences with Patrick over the past 5 years at The Club at Pasadera.
Let me start off by saying his resume speaks for himself. He is incredibly educated when it comes to the game of golf. He is knowledgeable about the history of the game, necessary fundamentals to become a competitive golfer, and is an accomplished player himself playing for the UCLA golf team. When I am out of sorts with my golf swing, I really enjoy getting Patrick’s insight on how to tweak my swing or mental approach to get back to playing like I’m used to. Just the other day he gave me a putting drill to use, which I accredit for me shooting my best score in years. I observe his lessons and the way he breaks down the swing for his students and he does it in a way that all players can soak in. He shows them their faults on camera, places them in the right positions, and gives them drills to improve.
Patrick is a huge asset to The Club at Pasadera and we are very lucky to have him."

I started playing golf in my 20s. I was in law school and thought it would be a good skill to have for business. I discovered that I loved golf, but with a law practice and 2 sons to raise, I played very little. In my 50s, with more time to devote and various professional lessons, I got my index to an 18. Then I completely lost my game one day and couldn’t recover it. Patrick was recommended by a friend. In one lesson with Patrick I was back, but in several lessons I found real change that greatly improved my game. It was a lot to work on at first, but with Patrick’s technicals, I am hitting longer and more consistently and accurately with all my shots than I ever have. I’ve been working with Patrick for a few months, and though I’m in my 60s now, I just shot an 80 with 3 birdies! If you want to learn a proper swing and are willing to really apply his teachings, I am certain Patrick will greatly elevate your game!"

since day 1. He has been able to recognize my strengths and weaknesses and develop a
successful training program. Patrick is more than a coach to me; he is my mentor, biggest
believer and supporter. Everywhere I play, I receive compliments about my swing-it boosts my
confidence and betters my game! Without Patrick knowledge and dedication, I would not have
enjoyed the game nor achieved the progress I have made."

"Patrick Parrish is the best golf instructor I've ever had, and I've had a number of them. Last year, at age 73, I was totally frustrated with my game, which had gone from the low to mid-80's to the mid-90's and worse. Under his guidance I've seen dramatic improvement, mainly from working on fundamentals. Patrick is patient, personable and clearly explains the changes to be made with insight as to why and how those changes result in a better golf swing. He uses video during instruction and provides the clips for you to use for reference between lessons. If you look at his website, you will see many pictures of junior and young adult golfers. He's great with older golfers as I've certainly found. If you want to improve your golf game and enjoy it more, then you must see Patrick Parrish. (831-236-8970)."

"Patrick has done wonders for my golf game in the short couple of months that I've been working with him. I took a ten year hiatus from golf until this past July, when I decided I wanted to get back into it. I found Patrick shortly after that and am already seeing a huge improvement in my game and scores!! I went from unable to keep the ball in play and keep score, to breaking 80 in just three lessons! Patrick has taught me more about the game of golf than I would have ever expected through just a few lessons. His use of video analysis has also been a huge help!"

"Patrick Parrish is an excellent coach and mentor. Our children have been working with him for more
than two years. Patrick always gives every child his best. Patrick is one of the most dedicated coaches
we have ever met. He consistently emphasizes the importance of ethical play, good sportsmanship and
values on and off the course. He breaks down the game of golf so that young players can learn at their
own individual levels and have personal success, pride, and confidence in themselves and their personal
accomplishments. Prepare yourself for success! Patrick is professional, patient and positive. He knows
what level of instruction you need and he works with you until you “get it”. Through analysis and
technology, he reinforces the correct fundamentals. This approach leads to immediate and measurable
improvement. The one-on-one relationship really pays off- you can depend on Patrick for constructing
a beautiful swing and an amazing game!"
